On September 29th, EWNJ hosted its inaugural Master Class featuring a fascinating discussion between Princeton University President Emerita Shirley Marie Tilghman, OC FRS, and EWNJ President Michellene Davis, Esq. on Tilghman’s background, her leadership philosophy, and how she arrived at the key decision points that have defined her remarkable career.

On Monday, October 30th, we hosted our biennial A Seat at the Table Gender Diversity Awards Breakfast where we exclusively released our 2017 report on the number of women on boards and in the top leadership of public companies in New Jersey. This report is the only one of its kind in the state. At this breakfast, we also honored New Jersey companies with 3 or more women on their boards.

Michellene Davis was recently featured in NJBIZ for being selected to participate in First Lady Michelle Obama’s United State of Women Summit on June 14th. Some of the speakers included Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Shonda Rhimes, Laverne Cox, and Tina Fey. The topics covered were: economic empowerment, health and wellness, educational opportunity, violence against women, entrepreneurship and innovation, and leadership and civic engagement.
