EWNJ Statement on the Appointment of Tahesha Way as Lieutenant Governor

Executive Women of New Jersey (EWNJ) is delighted to endorse and celebrate Tahesha Way’s appointment as New Jersey’s third Lieutenant Governor and the second Black woman to hold the position. This appointment underscores her outstanding leadership qualities and unwavering dedication to serving the people of New Jersey.

She succeeds the late Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, a steadfast supporter of our organization and the state. We warmly recall last year’s Salute to the Policy Makers 40-year celebration gala, during which former Lt. Governor Oliver honored Lt. Governor Way. This moment was profoundly impactful, encapsulating the essence of our event: a celebration of mentorship, leadership, and philanthropy, all while pledging to foster greater diversity in positions of influence. With her remarkable leadership abilities and commitment to public service, Lt. Governor Way is impeccably matched to continue and build upon Lt. Governor Oliver’s legacy of effective leadership.

EWNJ is confident that Lt. Governor Way will serve as an inspiring force for positive change throughout the state, and we eagerly anticipate her contributions as she carries forward this important work toward greater diversity.
