We’ve awarded nearly 350 women attending New Jersey colleges and universities over $1.3 million.
EWNJ is leading the creation of a pipeline of diverse women leaders in New Jersey. Our Graduate Merit Award Program is the largest provider of scholarships to women who are non-traditional graduate students in the state. We are actively seeking ways to advance women leaders at any point in their journeys.
EWNJ defines a non-traditional student as the following:
- A student who returns to her studies several years after receiving her undergraduate degree
- A student who may have completed her undergraduate degree at a later date
- A student that changed careers and is returning to school to retool their career
- A student that comes from a non-traditional educational or socioeconomic background
Quotes from our past scholarship recipients
Being awarded the EWNJ Scholarship has allowed me to continue my Masters of Science degree in Biology, which has equipped me with the resources needed to pursue a career in academia. With the EWNJ Scholarship, I was able to continue my research on the Mola mola fish and describe, for the first time, the highly derived skeletal anatomy and complex muscle morphology they possess. As a result of winning the EWNJ Scholarship, I will be able to continue my education to a Ph.D. program where I intend to continue biomechanic research.

I am currently in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s program at New Jersey City University. As a woman, mother, and educational achiever, I have been working hard while pursuing my dreams. I am very grateful for the scholarship I received from Executive Women of New Jersey. I will continue to achieve my educational goals. I will work hard towards my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Thanks to the generosity of Executive Women of New Jersey, I am one step closer to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This scholarship has contributed to my graduate tuition costs and has allowed me the opportunity to enroll in a research class in my upcoming semester. I hope to one day be able to help students achieve their goals just as the EWNJ Scholarship Committee has helped me in achieving mine.

The award from EWNJ means that women do support and applaud one another. This award has literally changed my life and the route of my sojourn. It has also supported my efforts to support others in difficult circumstances. For that, I am more than grateful.
