EWNJ 2025 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

In recent weeks, we have witnessed an unsettling shift in the landscape of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, particularly in government agencies and across the corporate sector. Executive orders have been issued aimed at restricting DEI programs and employee resources groups. Since EWNJ’s inception, more than forty years ago, EWNJ has been committed to fostering an inclusive and empowering community where all women of every race, ethnicity, sexuality, and creed can support and inspire one another. Since inception, our members have fought for equal representation and opportunity in the workplace. This will not change.

EWNJ will remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission of ensuring women have equal opportunities and representation in senior corporate leadership. The challenges posed by executive orders threatening DEI only reinforce the urgency of our work. Our organization has always been a powerful advocate for women’s advancement in leadership positions, and this moment reminds us of the importance of continuing to build a strong, supportive, and inclusive community for women in New Jersey, regardless of external setbacks.

To our members, we want to acknowledge the anxiety and frustration many of you may be feeling. It is natural to feel disheartened when progress seems threatened. But now, more than ever, we must lean on each other. We remain a collective powerhouse – a community of women who champion one another in both our professional and personal journeys. It is through solidarity, resilience, and our shared commitment to equity that we will continue to rise, even in the face of adversity.

Let us not forget that the strength of our network is not just in the opportunities we create for one another, but also in our unwavering voice. EWNJ will continue to advocate for policies that support women’s leadership and ensure that all women have the tools and resources needed to succeed, no matter what challenges may arise. Our commitment to fostering future women leaders, supporting one another through life’s challenges, and amplifying our collective voice has never been stronger.

In these challenging times, it’s important that we remain steadfast in our commitment to one another and to the progress we’ve made. While the road ahead may be uncertain, EWNJ will continue to be a place of support, empowerment, and advocacy. We are stronger together, and through our collective resilience, we will ensure that the future of women in leadership remains bright. Let’s continue to stand firm, lift each other up, and drive the change we wish to see.
